Greggory Schraven is a Theatre Maker who, for more than 20 years, has worked in various roles such as; scenic, lighting, sound, and properties designer, carpenter, electrician, welder, rigger, and scenery automator. A graduate from UMBC’s Department of Theatre, he is the department’s Production Manager and Technical Director. In addition to coordinating and overseeing the student stage managers on departmental productions, he teaches Introduction to Scenography, Drafting for the Theatre, Technical Production, and the scenery construction labs.

As part of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) Gregg served as Technical Director for UMBC productions of Las Meninas in 2011 and Buried in 2004 which he also served as the Scenic Designer. Additionally, he has worked as Technical Director for many area theatre companies including: Everyman Theatre, Rep Stage, Contemporary American Theatre Festival, Maryland Stage Company, Venus Theatre, Performance Workshop Theatre, UMBC’s Shakespeare on Wheels, Community College of Baltimore County Catonsville, and Bowman Ensemble. While a graduate student in the University of Delaware Professional Theatre Training Program, he had the opportunity to be part of the opening of the Roselle Center for the Arts, working in the Center’s two theatres, The Wilhelmina Press Thompson Theatre and the Studio Theatre.
