Gerrad is an actor, director, and educator based out of the DMV region. He oversees all programming in The Studio at the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company, which offers classes year-round for area youth and adults.

He holds a BA in Neuroscience from The Johns Hopkins University and an MFA in Performance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He is an Associate Artistic Director and member of the Resident Acting Company at the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company where he most recently starred as Macbeth in Macbeth. He also leads Chesapeake Shakespeare Company’s Black Classical Acting Ensemble. The BCAE was started to provide an affinity space for Black artists in Baltimore to examine the classical theatrical system and interrogate what more equitable practices may look like moving forward in the 21st century.

He has also worked as an actor, director, and educator for theatres and educational institutions across the country including the Great River Shakespeare Festival, Shakespeare Festival St. Louis, Pacific Conservatory Theatre-PCPA, Everyman Theatre, Mosaic Theatre Company, Constellation Theatre Company, and Washington Stage Guild. He is a member of the Actor’s Equity Association and the Society of American Fight Directors.
